Maximizing Your WootBook Battery Life: A Complete Guide
Your WootBook features advanced battery management designed to extend its lifespan. Get more out of your battery with our handy guide below.

Your WootBook features advanced battery management designed to extend its lifespan without sacrificing day-to-day performance. Whether you're always on the road or mostly at home or the office, your WootBook's intelligent charging modes adapt to your routine. This helps you get more out of your battery in its overall lifespan through more charge cycles.
The Three Charging Modes
Each mode adjusts your battery’s charge voltage and maximum charge level, balancing immediate runtime against long-term battery health:
- High Capacity Mode (Default)
- Max Charge: 100%
- Best For: Travel, extensive meetings, or any situation where you're frequently away from external power sources.
- Why It Matters: Delivers the maximum usage duration when required
- Balanced Mode (Recommended for Most Users)
- Max Charge: 95%
- Best For: General daily use with occasional mobility, like typical office work.
- Why It Matters: Reduces stress on the battery by not charging to its absolute maximum, while still providing ample battery life. This is a great balance for performance and battery preservation.
- Stationary Mode (Maximum Longevity)
- Max Charge: 85%
- Best For: Users whose laptops stay plugged in most of the time, essentially acting as a desktop replacement.
- Why It Matters: Significantly minimizes chemical strain and wear on the battery by maintaining a lower maximum charge. This helps preserve battery capacity over a greater number of charge cycles.

Tested, Proven, Practical
WootBook battery modes have been validated through internal testing:
- Mode Switching: Changing to a new mode typically takes effect after one full charge cycle.
- Runtime Difference: Based on our tests, you can expect a modest runtime reduction of approximately 4–5% when stepping down from High Capacity to Balanced Mode.
- Longevity Gains (Based on Potential Charge Cycles):
- Balanced Mode: Using this mode may increase the total number of charge cycles your battery can deliver compared to consistently using High Capacity mode.
- Stationary Mode: This mode delivers the best potential for maximizing your battery’s charge cycle lifespan.
The Science Bit: Lower charging voltages reduce chemical stress on lithium-ion cells, which helps to slow battery degradation. These modes also generate slightly less heat during charging, further contributing to improved battery longevity.
Daily Battery Care: Best Practices
🟢 Choose the Right Mode for Your Routine
- Default to Balanced Mode for everyday use.
- Switch to High Capacity only when you know you'll need maximum time away from a power source.
- Use Stationary Mode if your WootBook is plugged in for extended periods of time.
🌡️ Avoid Extreme Heat
- Keep your WootBook on a flat surface to avoid restricting airflow.
- Try not to leave it in hot cars or in direct sunlight for extended periods.
🔋 Avoid Constant 100% Charging (if not using Stationary Mode)
- Keeping a lithium-ion battery at 100% charge for very long periods can accelerate battery degradation (Stationary Mode is specifically designed to mitigate this for users who are always plugged in.)
🔁 Partial Cycles Can Be Good
If your routine allows, occasionally letting the battery discharge to around 20% and then charging up to around 80-95% (depending on your mode) can be beneficial over the very long term.
📦 Storing Your Laptop?
If you plan to store your WootBook for an extended period (weeks or months):
- Aim for a charge level of around 40-60%.
- Consider setting it to Balanced or Stationary Mode before storage.
- Check and top up the charge every 3-6 months if it remains unused.

How to Change Modes
- Open the WootBook’s Control Center app.
- Navigate to Battery Health settings.
- Select your desired mode.
Remember, the change will typically only apply after the next full charge cycle.
Important Note: Your Windows battery indicator may show "100%" when the battery reaches the maximum charge level for the selected mode (e.g., 95% in Balanced, 85% in Stationary). This is normal and means the system is working correctly to protect your battery. The actual stored energy will differ as designed.
Monitor Your Battery Health
You can keep an eye on your battery's health over time with the Windows Battery Report tool.
- Search for "cmd" in the Windows Start menu. Run cmd as Administrator. When asked if you want to allow the app to make changes, select "Yes".

- In the terminal window, type "powercfg /batteryreport /output C:\BatteryReport.html" and hit Enter.

- This will then generate a battery report to the specified path. In this example, it is the root folder of the main local drive. You can open this in any web browser.

A gradual decline in Full Charge Capacity over years of use and many charge cycles is normal. If you see sudden significant drops, it might indicate a need for battery calibration or a potential issue – feel free to contact support.
With Great Power, Comes Great Longevity
By choosing the right mode for your typical workflow, you can significantly reduce unnecessary wear on your WootBook's battery. This can extend its lifespan by providing more total discharge cycles, helping you get the maximum value and longevity from your WootBook.
